2 Corinthians 12:19
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. I love this verse so much. It brings strength when things get hard every time. I have battled sugar addiction most of my life. There are times when I feel I have overcome, but then I am challenged again when I find myself in weak places or in imbalances, hormonal or otherwise. After Zyon was born, I have found myself in some of those weak imbalanced places again, and these sugar cravings have seemed to take over! I was talking to the Lord about this a couple of days ago, and told him that sometimes it just doesn't feel like Jesus is enough, even though I know that he is. I asked Him why, and he said we are just supposed to call the name of Jesus to help and that's it. We call to him to ask what to do, and then obey. "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33 He told me that sometimes the answer will be to do something, like take a walk or even drink a glass of wine! I realized that so often we just say Jesus and expect him to take the craving away like magic. Calling on Him and not obeying isn't any better than eating the sugar and giving into the cravings. When we obey He knows what will work for me in that very moment. So when I seek him first, listen and obey, then all things will be added -my sugar cravings will be defeated through obedience to Jesus.
